I've been meaning to digitize "Gold Paint" and make this recording available for the last few years. I recently found what might be my only copy of the CD while moving, and then earlier this week someone asked me about where they could find it. So I decided to throw it up on Bandcamp so that it has a place on the internet to live.

This performance was recorded in the reverberant hall of of the Bastyr University Chapel in 2008. Looking back I realize how unique the opportunity was to record there. The space is an instrument in itself, and I was really inspired at the time, so even though the performance is not perfect I am really glad to have it documented. After refining some of the lyrics and song structure for these songs I tried to re-record them for the album "Youth is a Train", but it just wasn't the same. Reflecting on the difference between these two recordings reminds me of what really matters to me when capturing a live performance. Thanks for listening. -Jon
